At the time of the electoral summers in Schwetzingen a cultural bloom prevailed. Every spring, the court moved from the main residence Mannheim to Schwetzingen to spend the summer there.

In the apartments of the Elector Carl Theodor and his wife Elisabeth Augusta, reconstructed with contemporary furniture, one can still trace the comparatively simple rural life.

Experience a typical space sequence of an absolutist ruler whose private life was unknown.

The one-hour tour leads from the antechambre of the lackeys through the electoral bedroom to the audience rooms.

The splendor of the eighteenth century is alive in the castle.
